Here at Firewheel Smiles, we are proud to be able to repair our patients’ teeth using composite filling.

Though most people think of cavities when they think of dental fillings, we can fill any cracked or broken teeth.

Dental fillings come in many different choices. We offer gold, porcelain, and silver amalgam, though the most common is a composite resin filling. This type of filling is made to match your teeth. The only downfall of composite fillings is that we need to build them up using layers. We fill a layer, dry it with a light, and then add some more until we have all of the tooth filled in.

Prior to performing a filling, we use a local anesthesia to numb the area. We use a laser or air abrasion instrument to clean out the tooth, removing the decayed part, and then clean out the cavity. We may also use a glass ionomer to protect the tooth and the nerve. After that, we fill the tooth before polishing it so that it feels smooth and natural.

Great practice! They send reminders so I don’t forget my appointments. It’s never difficult to schedule. TVs are mounted above the chair so you’re entertained during procedures. All of the staff are great. I had a dental implant and I am very happy with their work. I don’t even live close to the practice anymore but I still drive to go there.
